Bird River Might relate to the Chrome occurences in Manitoba. They never became mines but the company may have some power still. The Financial Post survey of Defunct and Predecessor companies sells for $175.00 and may have your answer. Also the Northern Miner in Toronto used to search companies for $10.00 a certificate.

There is a company in the states that searches thoroughly and guarantees a find for about 50 or so bucks.

If you take the certificate to a bank as the Royal in Toronto, they have a division that does nothing but search old stock. There may be a fee or a requirement.
