On a recent flight that wasn't long enough to have a movie, I saw
an episode of Frasier followed by a kinda long (3-5 min) commercial
for SGI. They were hyping the Mars Pathfinder and had camera shots
alternating between Pathfinder pics and panning to a monitor with
the SGI logo on it. They had various JPL scientists saying a few
things about the project and their data management needs, and then
I think an SGI guy saying a bit at the end. They closed with some
comment like they salute the pioneering spirit at JPL and congratulate
them on their work, blah blah. Kinda like the big poster of the 777
and the Indy where they said they salute the spirit that's soaring
at Boeing. Anyway, I was impressed. Looks like they're beefing up
their marketing efforts some more.
