IN-03: Holier-than-thou trumps collegiality in Souder's downfall

Wow, to quote the crew at SSP, this is some stone cold shit. Apparently, the architect of the downfall of recently resigned and disgraced Rep. Mark Souder was none other than his GOP colleague, Mike Pence (R-IN). Pence has essentially taken credit, saying that he dropped the dime on his philandering colleague to the House Ethics committee.

>> Texas Board Of Education Tried To Keep Word 'Slave' Out Of 'Slave Trade'

The evil past of slavery should, of course, not be forgotten. And it will never be.

At the same time, as a southerner who had nothing to do with slavery, it gets a little old having it thrown up in our faces on a daily basis as though we were the perpetrators.

Oh cry me a river.....its part of history and needs to be taught accordingly. When will you people ever learn? You haven't so far.

The truth about slavery should be told. Did Texas ban Frederick Douglas' "Narrative" (probably the best all-round account of slavery in existence)?

You have to have some rational way to counter works of fiction like Zinn's "People's History...". School must teach about the slave trade but should not further the fictionalized accounts that are so predominant amongst the leftwingers.

Inode, this is just one of several questionable positions taken by the Board. They are a disgrace to education and to this country.
