I used to dive on some of those oil seeps. I had a much better link, I'll see if I can find it. My point, other than casual information, is that oil can and is assimilated naturally in the environment which is what ted had asked about. It was not a comparison to the exxon valdez or to diminish the tragedy in the GOM.

As for the link being badly written "perhaps intentionally", I don't think it was. The bulk of it goes back to this Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution press release btw:
