Unfortunately you may be proven to be correct. I have a cousin in Lexington who is now a prominent member of the community (he is an orthodontist. About 15 years ago, while he was attending graduate school at UK he dated this southern chick (nice girl) and they went to watch a college football game at her uncle's house.
