I think it's "working" less and less.

Like diseases that become more resistant to antibiotic treatments, the economy is becoming more and more resistant to "stimulus."

Only difference now is that your guy is in office, so what was considered a "slow" recovery under Dubya is now considered a "miracle" under The Chosen One.
