At that price it's getting interesting. One in NZ would be a great idea, not to mention those other places around the Pacific Ocean and Mauritius and Seychelles.

In 1998 Globalstar wanted $10 million plus guaranteed high sales at 50c a minute or they'd take back the gateway. Totally stupid. I told them it didn't make sense. Not to mention $1000 per handset or some such.

Mauritius is a pretty good place. I worked with a young woman from Seychelles decades ago [in London] and if she is anything to go by, Seychelles is pretty good too. A quick look at Wikipedia suggests so.

Yes, they are citrus grooves (well to the west on Airport Road) and some other nondescript farming land where the ground station is plopped down on.
