this verse is one of the reasons I always love/d Springsteen:

Do you remember the story of the promised land
How he crossed the desert sands
And could not enter the chosen land
On the banks of the river he stayed
To face the price you pay

dude knows his stuff.

tripping now, but think about that...

he paid a price. if he was pure, as we so expect of ourselves (and like we are) and of others now...

no... Moses was not pure. he had sinned.

he brought his people to the greatest gift. but he to do so, he became impure.

and he was left on the bank of the river to watch them cross over without him.

sin... to sin... is part of the price.

and, no, I do not mean like Vitter and others. if a person can not understand a depth of sin beyond sticking a dick in someone... well, start reading from the top.

oops.
