<<...BP refuses EPA order to use less toxic disperants...>>

Maybe the U.S. government is unwilling to play hardball with BP...It's amazing that the Government didn't tell BP what dispersant they wanted to be used from the beginning of this terrific oil spill -- safety has NEVER been BP's top priority...BP is all about maximizing profits and minimizing liability...Corexit is very toxic and much less effective than other available dispersants -- why did our government allow BP to spray/use over 700,000 gallons of Corexit in the Gulf and conduct a science experiment...?? Many top scientists are very concerned about the long term impacts of Corexit on the water column in the Gulf...Britain totally banned Corexit for use in their waters many years ago...Hmmm....BP doesn't own the ocean and they screwed up BIG TIME and should not be able to disagree with the U.S. government when it comes to how this spill is going to be cleaned up...If BP doesn't agree to use less toxic dispersants in the next 24 hours the Obama Administration could threaten prosecution of top executives or threaten to withdraw many drilling rights that BP currently has in North America...BP is ruining it's reputation and they should be going the extra mile to be transparent -- put safety above ALL other concerns or prepare for some big time blowback over the next decade. I view BP as a global environmental terrorist with Enron style management -- ends always justify the means for this company.

The government should have some leverage over BP...Lucrative contracts like this one with our military could be terminated:

"BP has been one of the biggest suppliers of fuel to the Pentagon in recent years, with much of its oil going to U.S. military operations in the Mideast. (It sold $2.2 billion in oil to the Pentagon last year, making it No. 1 among all the oil companies in sales to the military, according to the latest figures from the Defense Energy Support Center.)"
