FXI trades very actively in the US, has tons of options and follows approximately the Shanghai composite. Here is the performance of FXI, Shanghai composite and S&P 500 in the last 6 months -- roughly since Chanos spoke.

You seem to take shorting Chinese stocks personally. Relax, it's only a trade. Chanos didn't say anything about the long term. He will probably be out of his China trade before the year is out.

I think he was shorting suppliers to Chinese construction. For example Mitsui (8031.t) or Australian resource companies.
