Taxes were EXTREMELY high during the Eisenhower Administration, but that was a time when the Middle Class made MOST of its advances

The middle class made most of its advances in eight years? Please.

As for Greece a part of its problem is that it has too high of tax rates. This discourages productive investment, limiting its economy, and it encourages tax avoidance and evasion.

To be like Greece we would have to have our economy mostly rely on tourism or other fairly non-dynamic industry, have higher taxes, and higher government spending.
