Yeah, but EVENTUALLY the world will move closer to what the Chinese have right now and further away from what the U.S. has right now. That's possible. Fortunately its very far from a sure thing. In fact I think China itself is going to have to eventually loosen up a bit, or face limits on its growth and improvement. More cameras, more DNA testing, more facial recognition. Those are not so much total control, or even directly major steps towards it, but they are tools that can be used to take steps toward it.
