All good points!!

HOWEVER, not all economies or political systems share the same values.

One of the fundamental flaws of the United Nations, as the foundation of a future international government, is that we permitted non-democratic governments the right to hold permanent member status on the UNSC in hopes that such an honor would encourage them to "fly right". It clearly failed. All kinds of despot regimes have manipulated the UNSC to thwart any obstruction of the totalitarian ambitions.

I opine that the same thing is true with regard to unifying currencies. Many non-capitalistic (or lacking competitive capitalist values) are currently engaging in mercantilist policies, using monetary manipulation to maintain their favorable export status and trade surpluses.

I would have no problem with either a global government, or global financial system, if we all shared the same values (using the US constitution as a foundation).

But until that point arrives, the international diversity of the US population is the best representative of "we are the world" concept and I'm not motivated to subvert it merely to accommodate less democratic, or economic transparent, nations.

Btw, I'm not saying we're perfect, but overall we're more democratic and financially transparent than most of the other major economies.

We certainly have our flaws, but we also have the system in place to correct those flaws through the ballot box.
