New laws are not needed imo. It just needs a few laws, that already probably exist, to be understood and actually followed.

Minimizing risk is not really that complicated a process to follow. The results are maybe complex, but the rules are relatively simple. It really is childs play or.. if not made so. How hard is that?

I doubt this is a BP centric problem. I do expect them as a British co to show some standard of behaviour that others can look up to. Even under extreme adversity that seems to be the current case.
