This board is strangely quite tonight. I had expected to see everyone posting with glee. Perhaps its a good sign that it's not happening.

Clearly, Borland performed beautifully today. Seems to me that the specialist pulled the stock down early, possibly to replenish trading inventory depleted by the recent upsurge on heavy volume. Even the earlier selloff to 8 failed to generate much downside volume. (Flame me if you think I'm all wet about these specialists, but they are out to make money too!).

Then, in a mixed to weak market, Borland boomed back at the close to trade as high as 10 15/16, trading on relatively heavy volume in the last quarter hour or so. The specialist seemed to allow the stock to rise without dumping inventory. Barring a weak market tomorrow, I expect great things, perhaps a close at or above 11 1/2.

Technically, such a move will confirm an upside trend, break the stock up and out of a slowly moving trend channel, and break thru some pretty touch resistance in the 10 1/2 to 11 range. If this happens, we could see 12 1/2 or better by expiration. If it does not, the stock is likely to meander with the market, perhaps forming a consolidation rectangle or ascending triangle, IMHO.

Good luck tomorrow, to all of us.

Sam
