I hear that banks are getting tighter with their money, they're hording money... this could tighten the credit market again and start that whole credit market freezing up again... if that happened again, then the second time around would make the first time around look like a high school rehearsal and these markets would definitely crash straight down...

Re: "Companies are still afraid to pull the trigger on expansions because of uncertainties in the market."

Well... with unemployment at a modern record level....

And (US) inflation vanishing (between 1% and negative numbers in latest measures... depending on which particular measure you favor, for me it's the "trimmed mean PCE" put out by Dallas Fed and currently reporting 0.1% producer inflation... but ALL of the domestic 'flation gauges are trending downward....)

And Money Supply stagnant....

And demand weak still....

And Europe in deeper "doo" then we are....

And China tightening credit....

And the two national political parties finding it near impossible to work together for the national good on any measure....

And faith lost in most *all* big institutions....

Who can fault a lender for not wanting to stick his neck out?

Or a borrower (perhaps having long lived above his means...) who wants to ballast his personal ship for tough sailing?
