<<...Waste is the big issue...>> Yes, waste is the BIG issue with nuclear...And that's another reason we desperately need a manhatten project to get off oil...Bill Gates, Vinod Khosla, Nathan Mhyrvold and other really smart folks are investing in new smaller scale nuclear ventures -- will be more cost effective, much safer, address the waste issue, etc...the private sector is starting to investigate smarter ways to roll out nuclear power...I think Obama should not authorize ANY new nuclear plants until all the essential safety issues are addressed. And I would like to see a firm moratorium on ANY new deep and ultra deep water oil drilling in North American waters until all safety issues are throughly addressed and new strict regulations are adopted.
