Hawk, I think you mean that you would shoot the police, if they can't provide a lawful and reasonable explanation for their action.

I didn't say that at all. When police officers declare that they possess a search warrant, that means they had to go in front of a judge and produce probable cause to request and execute that warrant. In such a case, you MUST cooperate and let the chips fall where they may.

I'm certainly NOT going to give them a reason to engage in a shoot-out.. Let it get resolved in court.

Those police in that video were not looking to shoot the place up.. If they had they would have left the video camera behind and made sure that they backed each other up on their reports.

"In my community, if the officers were identified, appropriate action would have been swiftly taken. We ain't gonna live like that."

Your right, in your community. I'm guessing you live in a relatively well off community. I doubt the police here in Evanston would be so bold. However, a lot of people live in less well off areas and they tend not to have much of a voice. The guy in the now famous video was charged with possession of paraphernalia, a $300 fine misdemeanor. Others (smarter, more well known, more knowledgeable than I) are claiming this goes on 100-150 times a day, nation wide, and that the most anomalous thing about this raid was that it happened to be video taped.

I don't know what percentage of those raids end up having been inappropriate. Half? Quarter? Three quarters? My guess is that the number is significant, each and every day.

But what the heck, lots of dogs down at the shelter, and the kid will get over it. They're just some effing hippies, anyway.
