KT,

"He has some good ideas. But it is only the wacko ones that are coming out. BTW, his blame the media routine, GOP canned response number one to all of their blunders, isn't flying."

Uh, it doesn't take much more intelligence than is typically found among pot belly pigs to understand why only the "supposedly" wacko ones are coming out.

They are selecting the ideas that they know will not be popular with the masses because they lack the intelligence to understand his perspective or because they are emotional issues in order to discredit and defeat him

The PIGS may be hitting the U.S. market undeservedly. I don't yet see anything dirt cheap, but I want to be ready to jump on great cos. if there is some sort of pick up in this decline. So far, the stocks are going the right way, but they are not cheap enough to buy yet. This crisis mainly hits the govt.s and the the banks, not the consumers and the firms.

It's interesting, Rand seems almost the opposite of Ron. Ron always kept his nutty ideas to himself and promoted his better ideas in public. I have mixed feelings about libertarianism, but Ron's major public positions have always sounded awesome to me.

I'd have no problem at all ditching public healthcare and other welfare programs if we were to crack down on illegal immigration and slash the military budget. Those two acts would help the poor dramatically and counteract any loss of welfare programs.
