I thought the US markets provided the direction to world markets. I wonder why the US investor gets so spooked about what happens in other markets. Particularly at a time when the US economy, unlike the European and South American economies are moving upward to keep up with the Asian economies.

This volatility along with the oil spill is likely to slow down this economy for a while. But the fundamentals of this economy is restored to a point where it can move forward on its own.

Obama now needs to slowly reduce the spending and cut down the deficit. This is an opportune time to do so considering the gas prices are low which is expected to spark some spending by the consumer coupled with the easing of recessionary pressures (demand excepted)
