Re: "This guy LIED about service in Viet Nam, so he's OUT in my book."

Yep!

He lied. Kinda hard to deny videotape! (Same deal-ee as Madam Clinton with her "arrived under sniper fire" lie I think... funny how some pols just can't let well-enough along and feel the constant need to embellish, to embroider, to puff-up their own histories.)

At the same time though, he is *also* on videotape on several different occasions (including the very same year he lied) telling the plain truth, without the false claim of Vietnam service.

(So what is it? Does he feel the need to lie three days out of seven on the calender, or WHAT? The bizarre things some pols get themselves up to.... Must have something to do with *massive* egos.)

Re: "That's one of the reasons I hated Bush so much. He DODGED the draft and got a cozy spot with the Texas guard."

Well... I'll admit that it does seem that (with his low, low score on the qualifying exams) that it must have been special political favor that allowed him to JUMP so many other (higher qualifying) candidates on the waiting list but --- if "working the system to dodge active service" is the main complaint that you have here... I'd have to say that what Bush did was NOTHING as egregious as what Cheney did. :-)
