>>Cuz they are full of oil, half a world away?

Was that the same Shell guy who told Keith the MMS had given him nothing but trouble? That shocked Keith...not what he wanted to hear. Can he learn, or will he just continue spewing like the well?<<

I have heard of these huge oil scooping ships were availale from other people as well. I am sure they could transfer any oil in them to large oil tanks on land and then move them to the gulf.

My guess as why they are not using theses large oil scooping ships is that they would cost hundreds of millions of dollars to contract for extended periods of time and BP does not want to spend the money.

As I said, just like Exxon did, they did as little as possible knowing it would be cheaper to litigate. Every time Exxon got a right winger judge they would reduce damages and allow the law suits to drag on, just like the supreme court reduced the 5 billion in punitive damages to the Alaska fishermen to 500 million----after 20 years of litigation.

Exxon saved 4.5 billion on htat one shot alone and many more billion along the way and put most of it for 20 years. Many of hte peopel died during this long period.

But you just keep on defending and trusting BP, I am sure they are actually a fine and honest corporation with only your best interests in mind.
