SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov 6 (Reuters) - Worldwide sales of semiconductor chips rose to 11.8 billion in September, up 14.7 percent from a year earlier, the Semiconductor Industry Association said Thursday.

It was the highest sales level in 19 months, the trade group said in a statement.

''The 1997 recovery continues to pick up steam, thanks to the continued expansion of the personal computer market, the growth of telecommunications, and the surging interest in the Internet,'' said George Scalise, SIA president.

In the Americas, chi sales jumped 20.1 percent from September 1996. The Asia-Pacific region saw sales grow 15.7 percent, and sales in Europe were up 22.4 percent. In Japan sales were up a modest 1.3 percent.

Fred,

Thanks for the investigative info - if the opportunity presents itself
I'll go into action.

>>Think of this "dick - zero - news" as a Positive Bill,.... at some point the stock jockies will see the numbers and say " wow...them C-Cube guys and gals sold some chips last quarter" then they'll realize what we've known through our intense, excellent, & ongoing investigative work.<<

Now this sounds Good! Fred. Let's hope next quarter will be positive.

Bill
