If I had to bet on the services that will survive
the next few years, I'd put my chips on the internet
streaming services that do not require a box (well,
other than your PC). But I could be wrong, my new
is probably using 50-100W, but a little box that only
uses 10 or 20 watts would be nice.
Many options from which to choose.

Comcast needs a box--I do catch myself from time to
time using free on demand. That has just brief
commercials, hardly seem worth skipping through.
I suppose Hulu is the obvious substitute for Comcast.
I have the crappy free set top box for that, no doubt
fewer and shorter ads is a trend.

It really is a hodge podge--and I only average an
hour of boob tube a day. I'd be very wary about making
any speculations in the stock market, sector is awfully
crowded and who knows who will win in the end.
