Does oil receive subsidies? Yes.

Does it receive net subsidies? Apparently not, the taxes are large than the subsidies. This is the key point. If I subsidize you with $5, and then charge you a $10 special tax, technically you've received a subsidy from me, but you aren't really being subsided by me.

Even ignoring the taxes the subsidies (whether or not you include tax breaks as subsidies) are smaller per unit of energy produced than most other sources.
