I was in the 1994 earthquake in LA. About two years earlier I had finished a $1.5 million rehab on a building in Hollywood. The building got hit badly by the quake and the city gave my company 48 hours to bring the building down. My boss soon became hysterical, terrified the building would fall into Hollywood Blvd, and would run into my office every 20 minutes. Having lived through the earthquake itself....the largest one I had ever experienced, I already was pretty whigged and then to have the boss runing in every few minutes was nearly enough to put me over the top. Its when I learned there is no room for hysterics in a crisis.
