"The results of Ireland's economy are measured." Yes. "The results of the policy are not." Same thing. Results WILL BE MEASURED and, to the extent that the policies have already been implemented and are affecting the economy now, they are being measured. And will CONTINUE TO BE MEASURED... in the real world laboratory. (Unlike your thought experiment.) Long-term results can, (of course!!!!!!), not be discerned until the longer term has transpired. But the results for the short-term are starting to clearly come in... and the very article I posted was remarking upon their effects....
