Intel didn't want the Sub-zero segment before and Dell will be
100% behind Intel's a$$.

I doubt it. Dell is not focusing on the consumer-market.
On the other hand, soon or later the price-pressure in
the consumer-market will more & more affect the margins in
coorporate business.

And for sure they made the right discission to change their
focus from quality to price.

But your real question was if the "announcement" will have
effect. I don't think that the announcement has anything
to do with Dell's weakness today.

This should not have any effect on DELL. It will however, cut into CPQ, Packard Bell, and HWP sales of similar systems this quarter.
