Bush did nothing differently. It was the Cheney oil policies which led directly to this disaster. No requirement for an acoustical shut off valve. No requirement of a relief well drilled at the same time. No requirement of a better design for the well casing. All Cheney policies.

S. Elizabeth Birnbaum, who took over as director of the Minerals Management Service last July, disclosed her resignation to colleagues on Thursday morning, just hours before the idiot was scheduled to hold a news conference to disclose his latest moves to respond to the enormous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, according to a government official who asked not to be identified disclosing the personnel move.

This comes amid deepening frustration and criticism of the administration’s handling of the crisis. idiot Obama’s order is intended to halt further permits for new wells for six months, delay planned exploration in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas off the coast of Alaska, cancel an August lease sale in the western Gulf and cancel a lease sale off the coast of Virginia, said a White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity before the formal announcement.

The Virginia lease sale had drawn environmental concerns and objections from the Defense Department. The Alaska project will be delayed for six months while a new presidential commission studies how to regulate offshore drilling.

Ms. Birnbaum’s resignation came after weeks of questions about whether she was up to the task of remaking the Minerals Management Service, an agency widely recognized as one of the most dysfunctional in government. A Harvard trained lawyer, Ms. Birnbaum worked as counsel for the National Wildlife Federation before going to work for the House Natural Resources Committee, where she handled legislative and oversight activities for the Interior Department, Forest Service and electric power marketing administrations, according to her official biography.

She went to work for the Interior Department in 1999, where she provided legal advice, developed regulations and conducted litigation, then left government in 2001 to work as vice president for government affairs and general counsel for American Rivers, an advocacy organization. After a brief stint back on Capitol Hill as staff director for the House Administration Committee, she was named to head the Minerals Management Service by the idiotObama administration last year.

did she take oil money contribution for idiot odumba ????
