The cost is not 2 or 3 times, if you consider the cost of a second phone line. MediaOne Express service is $40/month wherever available.

Muizz, I'll stick with my optomistic view.. People will switch to cable modems! It's cheaper! The#'s I am getting is that cable modem service is going for 35 - 40 per month! - Many interent users get a 2nd line!... A cable modem cancles that need! - So it's really only $27.00 per month and it includes the HIGH SPEED modem! - Plus it's on 24 hours a day - a whole slew of applications will be built around that! Take a look @ direct-TV the MOST sucessful electronics product! -- It offered the same thing as cable - just better quality! - and people had to buy the box in the beginning- north of $500! - Common, who whouldn't switch to cable access... Faster, more relieable, no need for a 2nd line, no need to buy a modem! - 24 hours a day!- I think it's a no brainer... The only question is WHEN will it be available!
