Yeah it's like closing I-95 between Maine and Floria after a car accident happened two weeks ago...

BS. Humans are not perfect and there will always be poor decisions and design flaws. We will have a better chance reducing the risk by electing qualified people in the future. I seriously doubt by your tone that you have any intent on changing and will always be a guy that simply checks the (D) at the poll...

oh bummer! I thought Canadian and British regulations would prevent oil spills disasters. The moratorium will just cost jobs and raise oil product prices like gas and heating oil. Energy costs go up and costs of everything goes up. Rising prices and rising unemployment just before the 2010 election.

Don't worry! Be happy!

the hopeless comrade chartseer in the new era of rising unemployment and rising energy prices

It will move the drilling elsewhere, causing a risk of such leaks there, while causing an increased risk of spills while that oil is transported across the oceans in ships, that why typically well designed and normally safe, can break and spill oil.
