I haven't seen a menu with the sauces billed separately. My budget doesn't run to such fancy food, delicious though it might be.

I don't go to Antoine's more than two or three times a year. Otherwise, I'd be as round as the hot air balloons pompano en papilliote was designed to emulate.

Antoine's has had a rough time of it. It sat on its laurels for a very long time, and the quality naturally suffered. A younger set of owners is trying, successfully [until the latest BP-inspired calamity], to bring it back.

One of its rooms, the one locals prefer, is full of autographed photos of celebrities. We try to sit under Geo. Patton's stern visage.

We have lots of good restaurants here, Antoine's is simply one of a class, the grande dame set of old Creole eateries. They have their place. But we have a huge number of terrific neighborhood places, cutting edge bistros, etc.

All will suffer thanks to the criminal negligence of your former employer. Something drastic needs to be done to it, pour encourager les autres
