Obama needs to strap a camera phone or something to his forehead, so we can see what he does every second. What's that movie? The Ed Show, or something. Anyway, people will even get to criticize his camera work.
Oh.. a conspiracy.. he's looking to his left, and talking to somebody in front of him..bet they are writing notes to each other...

We have to look over BP's shoulder......

In the past two days, the Govt. including Obama has given a lot of info on how BP has been kept under the gun. It is not important that the public and the press be given a minute by minute account when they have nothing to contribute to this effort.

The press is working over time to find 'gotcha moments'. Its getting pretty silly.

Most of that is just political rhetoric. Our government took over a month to dispute the silly idea of only 5,000 barrels a day leaking out and said it made no difference. Of course it made a difference.

It is important the public (us!) be kept informed, because we live in a democracy. We get in trouble when we do not hold our governments accountable and are too lazy to learn the facts of our own governance.

We must always know for ourselves what is going on and can never completley trust our government. In fact the major problem today is that too many people take our wonderful democracy for granted.

We did not hold our government accountable for most of the last 50 years and look what happened. A stupid war in Viet Nam and Iraq; and our government quit doing its job of overseeing and regulating the powerful coporations, especially the last 30 years.

A fellow last night said it well. Bush sold our country to the corporations. We let him do that by not paying attention.

And now the dems are trying today to get our goveernment back from the corporations, but only after they almost destroyed the country, world and now the Gulf of Mexico.

We must be forever vigilant.
