They're economy is also dependent, for now, on the oil industry. It is a loss of jobs and revenue, just as loss of fishing is. Yes, I know. My reaction wasn't to her appeal but rather the conflicting comments directed at Obama. You've got people like Scott and koan screaming that all drilling needs to be stopped asap and at the other end, people like this parish official saying we need the money and don't stop. It would make me crazy......I am sure its not making Obama all too happy. People forget that the gulf states allowed the drilling because they needed the revenues/royalities. Same with Alaska. Time will tell if their position changes.....I doubt it....no matter how catastrophic this spill turns out to be.
