You got your numbers upside down. The bulls have been certain for a long time that the only way AOL could go is up. Now their paradigm has been shattered. You're only hearing the newly emboldened bears. The bulls are just lurking and taking this all in. Also, don't over estimate the impact of SI. I wouldn't be surprised if some institutional traders lurk here, but for the most part, they are probably talking to each other. They can misjudge and err just as much as the small trader - they just have faster access to more and better information. Regardless of current sentiment, if the numbers disappoint tonight, I make beaucoup $$$$ tomorrow. If they don't meet the whisper, I can probably at least get back what I put in. If they exceed the whisper (yeah, right, more than a 40% surprise on the upside, for a company trying to digest a new acquisition), I'm probably not much worse off than I was this morning. The good news has already been discounted.
