The failed Nigerian bomber and the Pakistani Times Square guy surely didn't receive their training from the Nigerian thief gangs. Maybe the AQ and Taliban should use these gangs as retainers to train their army of suicide bombers. After all they have the will to die but do not know how. :)

What's Nigeria or Canada's tarsand areas, or Siberia to us? plenty of blood for oil, and destruction of land & water, fish & fowl, and human lives. but we don't have to see it and it happens to backward places (or totally remote in our minds, like big snowy Canada wilderness, we do mostly acknowledge the nation as 'civilized'). We don't even have to send troops in those places. we let the corporations we love to call 'evil' do it for us, so long as they don't foul our own waters or land. maybe Rachel could do a tour, or hire locals to do it and send her the vid, of all the places we blithely wreck to maintain our addiction to oil, just as countries turn to narco-states to supply our cocaine and heroin.
