I sent this to a neighbor explaing why I retired at 31.

I hated retail. The stress was killing me. Might have not been as bad if I was selling sporting goods for someone other than my father.

One day it hit me, the bank and saving and loan had bought up most of the buildings and announced expansion plans. BUT THEY HAD SKIPPED OUR BUILDING. That and Mobes needed an established name for their new store.

Told my dad, he had the gravatis,to call a meeting. He told me I was nuts to ask that much and if we walked away with 25% we'd be doing well. I laid out the plan. He comes back a few hours later and tells me he's buying me a drink. My deal worked.

House paid for and making 18% on $100k back in '79 wasn't bad and Sue had a nice job.

Then we moved out here. Sue wanted to go to college and she got an IT degree and was the top in her class. Moi? I was playing the stocks and grain markets. Couldn't miss in those years. Then I found the Net and Charles Gizzerilli moved in next door. He had been a CPA that took care of John Gotti. He told me how to play the markets and I showed him how to mow grass.
