Max, your own description shows why using a nuke is nonsense: You have to drill a "relief well" to place the nuke. The only reason the Russians used nukes was because they didn't have accurate enough drilling technology to drill a real relief well.

The issue is time. If it takes as much time to place a nuke as it does to drill the relief well, why use a nuke which would have risk as well?

All the talk of using a nuke is crap because of this simple fact: It will take as long as drilling a relief well.

I'd say, get 15 Rigs, 25 rigs or whatever and suck the reservoir dry quickly while "kink" up the leaky pipe multiple times to reduce the leakage.

Instead of waiting for other options - I think Feds should sideline BP and go all in.

Try ALL Alternatives and ideas at the same time.

PS: Apologize if my ignorance in this arena shows - obviously I don't know anywhere near what many of you know but throwing some wild assed ideas as a concerned citizen.
