I am just pointing out that the facts of the situation don't look good for BP. Your assumptions that they are as pure as driven snow are much more speculative.

I make no such assumptions -- in fact, I guess I agree with your position then. These things do NOT look good for BP and there is certainly every reason to suspect they'll do just as Exxon did with Valdez if given a chance.

Still, there is no compelling evidence that anything BP did caused this accident. Perhaps there will be such evidence later on, in which case BP should have to account for its actions.
