Esther is one of my favourite stories because it illustrates the power struggle and the persecution that went on in days of old. It lacks the miracle chasing that people like gregor-ee are so enthralled by. The stories about the dancing girl Salome is another dandy. Jonah being thrown out of the boat and then swallowed by the whale only to be thrown up on a beach is a good read. It is all here in 100 versions in 50 language. biblegateway.com
