Maybe. 600 wells as deep as the problem are producing in the Gulf right now - why do you assume this one would have been caught? When Obama came in, there was this nasty looming Bush Great Depression II, two wars and Republicans to attempt to deal with.

As far as MMS being corrupt forever, probably so, but I'm sure it reached it's PEAK of corruption under the eight years of Bush/Cheney, the "oil men" against regulation.

As far as housecleaning - you do KNOW that the (R)'s have over 100 "secret" holds on Obama nominees by unknown (R) Senators?
