"...over sensitive little people - the type of St. Aloysius, of whom it is said in the book of the monk Eustachius that when he heard a man breaking wind with deafening noise he immediately burst into tears and could only be consoled by prayers.

People like gregor-ee express their indignation in public but take unusual pleasure in going to public lavatories to read obscene inscriptions on the walls.

I just want to be clear on your position. Do you think it was wrong for God to punish people who sacrificed their children with fire to false gods and engaged in ritual sex with animals as part of their worship?

gregor-ee longs for the days when there were crusades and public whippings and executions and the church in charge. He must be very jealous of the Taliban doing such a fine job in community organizing.

WITCH HUNT

The night is black
Without a moon.
The air is thick and still.
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torchlit hill.

Features distorted in the flickering light,
The faces are twisted and grotesque.
Silent and stern in the sweltering night,
The mob moves like demons possesed.
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right,
Confident their ways are best.

The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will.
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill.

They say there are strangers who threaten us,
are immigrants and infidels.
They say there is strangeness too dangerous
In our theaters and bookstore shelves.
Those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves.

Quick to judge,
Quick to anger,
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand...
