Let's see... 400 grams, 14 troy ounces (nearly a pound)...

Not too shabby for a day's work.

I accompanied a woman with no financial experience to a safety deposit box to extract a number of gold Maple leafs from her lover`s stash. I knew a coin dealer who would buy them off her at a good price and off we went.

I had placed the tubes of coins on the dash of the car, in full view, playing crash em with them. She got visibly agitated at my cavalier approach and then it struck me.

I was free of money. it had always been an illusion, and now it had now power over me.

CD

BTW from the Acting Man

„Gold gets dug out of the ground in Africa, or someplace," he said. "Then we melt it down, dig another hole, bury it again and pay people to stand around guarding it. It has no utility. Anyone watching from Mars would be scratching their head.

Consider the multitude of humans following behind their pooches and dutifully gathering up the leavings of their pets in little poopy bags .. The folks from Mars would no doubt wonder who exactly was in charge :O)
