You need to deal with employees in a small business to really know how deep the rot is. I have made some observations over my 30 years in business. The ratio of people who have good attitudes, want to work and take pride in it to those who do as little as possible and complain the most, hoping you will fire them so they can stay home, collect unemployment and smoke dope runs about 60%/40% good workers/bad. That's why so many small businesses are speaking Spanish and hiring the Mexicans whenever possible. The good/bad ratio with them is about 90%/10% and they work cheaper.
