Until he went crazy re gambling, I would have agreed. I find that sad, actually, because he has helped this state take some steps forward and he's never played racial crap or much class crap, or ever postured for a national stage.

And too many of the major players in shutting down gambling here are connected to Mississippi gambling casinos for me to trust it is about our souls. When he shut down some B'ham places, 3000 jobs were lost in a day. In B'ham where they really really need the jobs. 3000 people. poof. jobs gone. and he's not running for re-election, so it's not moral posturing to a certain crowd. something stinks there.

and Seigleman won largely on pushing for a lottery to raise money. ya know, our state is not very wide. people go to MS to gamble. they go to Georgia to get lottery tickets. not like really they stopping anyone from doing 'bad' things. it's like the cities that vote to stay dry to preserve their 'specialness' when I'd much rather the fools (moi included) buy their beer close to home, and it's not like we don't have a meth epidemic, the meth cooked up in people's homes. maybe if they could get some beer and even a joint for a lil buzz... they might just might leave the fucking meth alone. who are they kidding by thinking they are staying pure if beer ain't at the corner store?

oh, one thing that happened in the primary here is that people can cross over... and since Davis had shown his right wing stuff too clearly, not much of any 'wanted' to vote for him and figured sparks was a done deal, so they crossed over to vote for Byrne and the other guy to keep James out of things.

tit for tat and all that. we've worked too hard here to let Tim "we speak English" James run this state and respresent us to the world.
