Sunny, I think the recent weakness of coms are due to : 1. General market decline 2. General High-Tech decline caused by Intel, Semi, Disk-drive, PC competition, Sunw/Sgi ...... everybody is tanking - not just coms 3. Asian demand concerns 4. Newbridge/Ascend warnings 5. Quite a large amount of insider selling 6. Cisco entering consumer market 7. We're entering profit warning period again and also the dreaded option expiry coming up again in couple weeks ! 8. Price cut concern from Ascend on their RAS And the following are concerns which I don't think are valid : 1. Intel taking coms' market share 2. Merger concerns 3. Modem standard concerns I'm pretty sure (with no evidence) large accounts are quietly accumulating coms shares right now. One of these days they will start pushing the stock - usually it happens very suddenly - just my own speculation. Mang
