Wow, more dodging of the issue based on dubious distinctions ... first the refineries located on ports on the west coast of Washington weren't on the "ocean" and now they're not on "Puget Sound" either. So if you can define the waters beside the refineries and the waters the tankers travel through to get crude to them as not being "ocean" and not being "Puget Sound", you've eliminated the risk of tanker spills.

This is really pathetic.

I wonder why the refineries websites say they're on the sound, why the Seattle newspapers wrote about 21 miles of Puget Sound shoreline being devastated, why almost everyone else in Washington state thinks tankers are traveling through Puget Sound?

Why does the Seattle PI think tankers travel through Puget Sound? Shouldn't you be writing them and straightening them out?

Here's another Seattle publication that thinks tankers traverse the Sound - better straighten them out too:

Here's an environmental group that thinks tankers traverse Puget Sound - you'd better straighten them out:

... Fifteen billion gallons of oil move across the waters of PUGET Sound in ships every year. Our four huge refineries receive tanker-loads of Alaskan oil hundreds of times every year. And cargo ships of all kinds -- accounting for thousands of trips in PUGET Sound each carry enough fuel to devastate PUGET Sound should a spill occur.

Let's tell Tesoro they don't know where their refinery is:

Tesoro’s Anacortes refinery is located about 70 miles north of Seattle on the picturesque PUGET Sound. .....
