One, it doesn't matter what you call it and this whole discussion of the definition of "ocean" and "puget sound" came from your apparent desire to downplay the environmental risks of tanker traffic .... which I've pointed out is statistically riskier than offshore production.

Two, you got yourself into a position of contradicting both everyone else in the area (Tesoro, the Seattle media, environmental groups) and most humorously YOURSELF.

That you did so in the typical high-handed I know-it-all, you're ignorant because you haven't looked at these nautical charts manner, makes it all the more satisfying.

Allow me to rub it in some more ("in excruciating detail", as you say) - HERE'S ERIC VS ERIC!

Here is a chart of "Northern Puget Sound".

Notice in excruciating detail that there are no refineries!
Not a single one.

No I'm not hoping. After seeing what happened up in Alaska no one would ever wish for that to happen. I go by supertankers all of the time on trips to my home up in the San Juans of Washington State and go right by the Anacortes refinery which is on the water of Northern PUGET Sound. Padilla bay is right next door. The most valuable estuary in Washington State for marine wildlife and migrating bird populations.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
