Tom, N-Hand Disks: off the top of my head, which after today I have to shake a few cells loose, I seem to recollect that Kim Edwards said n-hand disks would hold 70 pictures.....

Obviously, this is from my memory, so don't hold this against me....

From my limited knowledge of digital photography (close to none) the value at this point may be with business users rather than "photo album' photographers. This is still an emerging technology and has a long way to go before the quality and use issues are resolved.

I have observed in my particular profession/industry (design and construction) that digital image recording is already replacing progress photographs for documenting construction progress. It is also a good tool for incorporating these same images into reports and schedules as well as quickly sharing images with offsite sources when looking for constructibility solutions.

I suspect that other businesses and professions have found similar uses for the technology. Even at this early stage of development it provides a tool for quick image transfer when compared to what was available before and at a relatively low cost.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there is a need now for this technology and there is a place for N-hand to enter the mix.

Tom, there is a camera you can buy NOW that puts 20-40 pics
on one floppy, the Sony Mavica. It has been available for
about half a year and sells for about $500.

sel.sony.com

So that should be a starting point for speculation.
