>>Not a put down per se but he has no business experience.<<

Agree, but of course the same could be said about McGramps (unless you count his wife inheriting her liquor business as "experience"). Or for that matter, "the Great Communicator", not too much biz experience in sportscasting or starring in Bedtime for Bonzo, eh?

Australia seems to be closest You know how Canada balanced its Federal budget... lots of pain.. and then more pain.. and then a kick in the groin to be sure... We never really recovered below the Federal level (Provincial and Municipal) in most provinces... The resource boom masked much of that though.. Our vaunted healthcare is under attack as demographics dictate that going forward.. we will not be able to afford the combination of services and waste that we presently have.. Next year we have to address our newly minted Federal deficit.. so far Ontario has one half as much as the Feds :O)

Our situation is much less bad... but not great ...

I dunno if business experience would make a difference to the way your government works right now.. Frankly I think your problems are more political than not...

Well, Bush Jr was an MBA and he had business experience. Look where that got us. What a disappointment. I don't think this is all Obama's fault. I think we just have a seriously dysfunctional Congress and two party system. None of those jokers are focused on fixing problems.
